Well enough with the introductions, let’s get straight to the recipe.

Ingredients:

To get started, you will need the following ingredients (Serves 1).

  • 150g – Sprouted Green Moong dal
  • 2tsp – Peanut oil / Olive Oil
  • 1tsp / 2g – Cumin Seeds
  • 30g – Onion (Diced)
  • 2 – Green Chilly (Long Cut)
  • 40g – Tomato (Diced)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp – Red Chilly Powder
  • 1/4 tsp – Turmeric Powder

Instructions:

Follow the instructions step by step, in order to get the perfect taste. But if you want to do some adjustments, you can. For example, many people don’t like spicy foods. So, you can cut down some of the spices. Only if you want to.

Step 1: The first thing you will need to do is cook the Sprouted Moong Dal. Many people eat it directly after soaking in water overnight. I would recommend against that. Once the Moong dal is sprouted, you need to cook it in a pressure cooker or boil until its cooked. Once it’s cooked drain the Cooked sprouted moong dal and remove any excess water.

Step 2: Once you have the drained the cooked sprouted moong dal, set it aside. Now, in a frying pan, add 2tsp of cooking oil / peanut oil / olive oil. I recommend using cold pressed oil. Once the frying pan and oil is heated, add 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, and fry until light brown.

Step 3: Now, once the cumin seeds are fried and ready, add chopped onions into that, and start frying until golden brown. While its still in the pan, add cut green chilly, and fry until they are cooked.

Step 4: Next, add chopped tomatoes, and fry until they are cooked. But make sure not to overcook it. The tomatoes need to become soft.

Step 5: Now, add Turmeric powder, and red chilly powder, and fry and cooked until they are cooked. This is where you can modify the spices. If you don’t like spices, you can reduce the amount of Red Chilly powder.

Step 6: Now you need to add the Cooked sprouted moong dal to the frying pan, and mix well. Cover the pan with lid and let it cook for at least 10 minutes. Once it’s cooked and mixed well, it’s now ready to eat.
